PRICING

Many people who are looking at bus transportation for the first time have a lot of questions about how pricing works.

Is there an hourly rate?  Do you pay mileage fees?  Is pricing the same everyday?

The truth is that a lot of companies in the industry have different pricing models, which can result in wildly different prices for the same trip.  At Delta, there are three main things that go into the pricing for any trip that we run:

1. The number of hours you will need the bus
2. The number of miles that that bus will be running, and
3. The date of your trip, and how busy that day is both this year and historically.

In a lot of ways, we price a lot like airlines do: if you are going farther, you will pay a bit more, and if you are going on a really busy day, expect to pay a higher fare than a day that isn’t busy in the industry.

By far, the busiest days in the charter bus and school bus industries are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in March, April, and May.  Many schools plan field trips in these time periods, which causes a large influx in demand.  If you are in the planning stages of your trip, we are happy to give you a quote on any day you are interested in, but if you have flexibility, do know that trips early in the week tend to be more affordable than trips later in the week.

Also, much like booking an airline ticket, if you wait to book until the very last minute, expect higher pricing.  If you are booking months ahead of time, you are going to get a much better rate than if you try to wait until a couple of days before hand.
