Motorcoaches typically hold between 54-57 people, depending on make and model. School buses typically hold 52 adults or 84 smaller children, depending on size.
Reservations can be made by calling in to 888-241-8543. Once a reservation is made, a 20% deposit is due within two weeks to keep the reservation, and the remainder is due two weeks before the trip runs. Trips can be paid with check or credit card. If your school or organization works on PO, we can usually accommodate that.
Currently, Delta Charter Bus has full-size buses meant to seat 50+ passengers. We do not have smaller transportation options at this time.
Motorcoaches tend to be a bit more comfortable (single seats vs. the standard school-bus seat), and motorcoaches have on-board restrooms, as well as DVD players and monitors. School-type buses are a great way to travel on a budget, and motorcoaches are the preferred way to travel in style! Yes, we are SPAB certified, so we can service schools.
Mainly by being flexible on your date. If you are committed to a peak day, you will probably pay peak pricing (just like how it is impossible to find cheap flights the day before Thanksgiving)!
We have mobile wi-fi that is available to groups, for a surcharge, if asked for.
Depends! Some dates book out 6 months ahead of time, but many days can be booked up to 24 hours before, space permitting. Do know, however, that waiting until the last minute almost always results in significantly higher pricing!
A bus driver can drive 10 hours total drive time, or 15 total hours (both driving and waiting for the group to complete an activity) on the clock before he needs at least an 8 hour rest break (per DOT law).
In most cases, yes. If there is excessive damage or mess (ex: someone gets sick), you will be charged a $250 cleaning fee. No glass is allowed on the buses due to safety concerns.
All of our buses have under belly storage, so unless you have an incredibly large amount of carry ons, everything should comfortably fit on the bus.
Unfortunately, no pets are allowed on the coaches due to safety concerns, however certified service animals with proper certifications present upon boarding are allowed. We do apologize, but emotional support animals are not allowed on board our coaches at this time.
Yes, we do! These are specialty buses however, and are often in a higher demand than normal buses, so make sure to specifically request these buses when making your reservation if you need one (don’t assume your bus will have a lift).
Nope, definitely not. Our drivers have years of experience, and have to pass rigorous tests via the California DMV and CHP, as well as maintain detailed records with the CA PUC and federal DOT. In short, if you are using our buses, you are using our drivers!
Buyer beware. The motorcoach industry has improved MASSIVELY over the last decade, and many of the old bait-and-switch techniques companies employ are not possible anymore. That being said, some brokers, or low-cost operators, have no problems cutting corners (read: insufficient maintenance/adherence to regulations), in order to out-compete companies who stay legal. If you find an “incredible” price, look the company up on https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/ and also ask them if they are the company that employs the drivers that will be on your trip. If they aren’t, just know that they won’t be responsible for the type of bus that shows up on the day of your trip. Delta has its own equipment and drivers, so we are accountable for every trip we run!
